A trained user can estimate the range to objects of known size, the size of objects at known distances, and even compensate for both bullet drop and wind drifts at known ranges with a reticle-equipped scope.

Fluting a barrel will reduce the weight as well as offer improved cooling, but may reduce the strength of the barrel. This is a tradeoff that may go either way- get a heavier fluted barrel, and you re at least as well off as the non-fluted barrel. Stick with a non-fluted Gun Clips and Magazines.

Century Arms a.k.a. Century International Arms Inc. is offering a modernized tactical AK-type rifle/carbine (i.e. tactical Kalashnikov-type rifle/carbine) that’s made in the USA. An Mil-Std-1913 rail system (M1913 rail system) is available as an option. We don’t yet know who is manufacturing/supplying this accessory/component. There are two versions of the rifle, one with an M4/M4A1 Carbine-style telescoping stock, the other with a Galil-style side-folding stock. The photo we’ve seen of the rifle shows the M4/M4A1-style stock version with a Galil-style handguard/foregrip. Caliber is 7.62×39mm.

A company called FreeLinc recently introduced a tactical headset for military Special Operations Forces (SOF), law enforcement swat teams, and PSC/PMC PSD/Security Operators called the FreeMotion 200 that represents a significant development in secure tactical communications–the key word being "secure". Of course, there are a number of companies out there making high-quality tactical headsets that allow for secure tactical communications. However, they all involve wires that go from the headset or earpiece to the operator’s two-way radio. The FreeMotion 200 tactical headset, on the other hand, is wireless. The wireless aspect, by itself, isn’t anything to report. It’s the fact that the FreeMotion 200 allows for a secure wireless link between the headset and the radio that’s important.

When sounds/noises exceed 82 dB around the user, the Peltor Tac 6 circuitry shuts down (off) ELECTRONIC HEARING PROTECTION . The circuitry will not return to normal operation until the sound/noise level drops below 82 dB. The Attack Time of this unit is 5 Milliseconds. The effect is a clipping on and off. At a shooting range or any area which has a high noise level, the unit will be constantly turning off (clipping) because of this high level of ambient noise. In fact, if the ambient noise level exceeds 82 dB, the electronics simply stay shut off. The NRR of the Peltor Tac 6 is 19.
